Constructed of bronze with a dark olive drab paint scheme, topped by an eyelet for suspension from a stylized anchor mount which has been lost to time, the exterior bearing an inscription of PS GRAF SPEE 1939 (PS for Panzerschiff, or armoured ship), the reverse with a stamped medallion bearing wreathed nautical imagery, the interior retaining a clapper suspended from an original rope, unmarked, measuring 20 cm (w) x 17 cm
